  1. This is one of my new favorites--I really like how the picture feels almost primitive, that it's done on a piece of paper that looks like it was meant to be thrown away, but the image is still elegant in its own way. Fantastic.

  2. This piece was challenging because I am not at all used to working this loosely, this sloppily, this vaguely, or with charcoal. I am very happy with how it turned out, but I think that is equal parts luck and effort. Still, I hope to use charcoal in more illustrations soon because something about it fascinates me.
